Tomoyuki Ogawa, riding for the HRC Honda Mitani team, showcased his unparalleled skill in the opening rounds of the Japanese championship. With precision and finesse, he conquered the challenging terrain, clinching victory in both events. Ogawa’s performance solidified his status as the force to be reckoned with this season, aiming for an astonishing 14th Japanese title.

Round 1 – Okazaki

Perfect conditions for the opening round of the 2024 All Japan Trial Championship at the Kyosei Driver Land in Okazaki. For quite a few years now, Ogawa has not been able to win fhe first event of the season. Seems like the jinx was broken in 2024 as this time, he took control of the trial right from the first section and never looked back.

Leading comfortably after the two scoring laps, Ogawa could even afford to five both Superfinal sections and still come out on top. A great way to start his season and title hunt.

Round 2 – Kusu

The second round of the 2024 All Japan Championship was held in Kusu Town, Oita Prefecture. The Kusu Trial Hills venue played host for the first time in five years with sections made on slippery hills, rendered even more difficult because of the bad weather in the days leading up to the event.

After two laps of battling, Ogawa was in the lead going into the Superfinal, just five points ahead of Yamaha’s Kenichi Kuroyama. Two strong rides in the challenging Superfinal sections gave Ogawa a clear win over his rivals and a good advantage in the series standings. Talk about a strong start to the championship!
