The yearly highlight on the UCI trials calendar is without doubt the World championship where riders from all over the World fight for the elusive rainbow jersey. The trials competition is part of the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships and for 2022 organised in Abu Dhabi.

Performing well at the World championship is a major season goal for Jitsie Factory team riders Alejandro Montalvo, Marti Vayreda and Adam Morewood. Their all-new 2023 Jitsie Varial Race bikes got a visual makeover for the event which is an option also available for Club Jitsie members.

An unlucky slip up in the final section of the 20″ final cruelly took away Alejandro Montalvo’s title chances. Although the final result wasn’t what he hoped for, Alejandro rode fantastic all week and adds a silver medal to his already impressive palmares. In the same category, Adam Morewood unfortunately couldn’t qualify for the final and finished is a respectable 15th place overall.

In the 26″ class Marti Vayreda struggled with section four in the semi-final and that put his qualifying result for the final slightly below expectation with a sixth place. This meant he’d have to go first in all sections in the final and not have the advantages of learning from his competitors. That severely impacted his performance and he finished in a slightly disappointing sixth place in the 26″ final.

Abu Dhabi marked the final event in the 2022 season and all eyes are now set on 2023 with winter preparation starting in a few weeks.
